Local Research

There are a few steps I would advise taking, before you travel to any new country and that is all in the context of researching. I know that sounds boring but believe me, you should.

Step 1 - Buy tickets now for attractions that you know you want to visit or see. By buying in advance you’ll be able to skip more lines, and find more deals targeted toward you.

Step 2 - Get a guidebook, guidebooks usually include maps, key words or phrases you will need when visiting this particular country, and give you enough detail on certain sites that you won’t need to purchase the pamphlet at the venue that they overcharge you for. And download any apps before you travel. Avoid downloading charges from your wireless carrier and get your apps before you leave.

Step 3 - Research events going on while you’re there. This will help you make sure that you’re not missing the best events going on in the city — fun things like festivals, ceremonies and natural events.

Step 4 - Research a few native dishes to try. You don’t want to leave the country without experiencing what its known for.

Step 5 - Download an app called Maps.me this app enables you to download a map when you are connected to WiFi, and then when you are travelling, requires no internet to direct you to the attractions you wish to find.
