Get yourself lost

One bit of advice that we must give you all is that to see the most out of any place, you must get off the beaten track and get lost within the hustle and bustle. Sometimes a tour is all well and good but you only see what someone wants you to see, sometimes you do have to get lost within the streets to really experience the full side of somewhere. On the other hand, a tour can be the only way to see the full extent of a city, like Venice, the only way to see certain streets is to hire a gondola/boat due to some streets only being accessible by a water vehicle.

Some of our best days when we explore an area, are the ones where we don't use a map and we just wander from sunrise to sunset, exploring sides of a town without the main tourist attractions around. It's one of the only ways to see the side of a town that the locals live within.
