How to plan a route?

First of all, pick where you want to go, the world is HUGE so this is probably the longest part of travelling.

There are many different steps you should take whilst planning your trip:

  • Draw up a short list of places you want to go to, preferably section them into continents

  • Decide on your method of travel

  • Work out the budget you wish to spend

  • Where will you want to stay, hostels, Airbnb ETC

  • And finally, how long do you want to be away for

If you work out all of the above, then chances are you're nearly halfway through sorting out your route. The easiest method is to go continent by continent, hitting off every country you wish to go to along the way, whether you are away for 1 week to 1 year.

The best way I do the planning of the route, depends on the method of transport, if you are a budget traveller like myself, you will plan your route, depending on the cheapest method of transport, this is usually by travelling to the closest country next but this is not always the case. Look into both Skyscanner, Interrail and even Couchsurfing for the best travelling tips, look back at my previous posts where I will explain my travel tips for using all of these websites.
