We have arrived in our next destination of Florence, we decided to walk to our hosts apartment, but we did regret it massively, the heat was jsut out of this world, and carrying our bags on our backs didn't make this any easier. We finally got to the apartments and apologised for our look as we were very hot by this point as met our hosts who were very lovely and was made to feel very welcome in their home from the get go. We were beginning to really miss some of our home comforts by now and one in particular was an English Roast, so we headed to the super market around the corner to try and find the next best items to make our own make shift dinner... it was surprisingly tasteful.

Our room was lovely and it had everything we needed, the hosts were so helpful in telling us places to go, places you may miss if you aren't from the area so we were so grateful to be staying with them. We ate our food, showered and headed into Florence to go exploring.
Luckily we managed to shade hop our way down into the main centre, because it was even hotter here than it has been in Venice... and that was saying something. We arrived in the main square and we were looking up at the Cathedral, it looked like it was a drawing and that the real building was covered up... We stood just staring, it was baffling our eyes, it was simply amazing, probably one of the most beautiful interesting looking Cathedrals yet!

We wandered around the area further and came across a second square, which had a humongous turtle statue, surrounded by a barrier and a guard watching over it, preventing anyone from getting too close. The statue itself was amazing, and the entire square surrounding was no less than perfect either. We continued walking under the archway and found ourselves back at the main river, with a beautiful view of the old town bridge.

The sun was beginning to set behind us and it was such a lovely spot to watch it drop behind the river, we can't wait for another day to explore tomorrow!
