Day two in Venice and we are off to get on a gondola today!!!! There are many tips we can offer you for the best place to get the gondola, and you really should take our advice, as you got further into the Island, the gondola rides are cheaper, and if you do it during the day then you can imagine the dramatic drop in price than doing it as the sun is setting. The other tip about where to get the gondola would be the further you go in, the better the route, you need to be in distance with the little side streets to get a different feel of Venice, so you can see the side of Venice you can only see via boat or gondola and also close enough to the main open water, where you will get to go down Canale Grande (Grand Canal). The first image below, is where we got our gondola from!

This was by far one of the most beautiful, interesting things we have done yet, so honestly, budget some of your other travel days so you can witness what it is like on gondola, because it's a truly spectacular thing to do here.

You could wander around the streets for hours and it wouldn't get boring, each street is different, each lit up with brightly coloured houses and new bridge to walk over. We even tried some local drink, Bellini, it was quite tasty!

We continued wandering round the area, snapping away in every corner, because every corner was a new picture opportunity but before long we did get quite tired so we headed back earlier to our campsite to enjoy dinner and drinks, which was very nice.
