We have finally arrived in Venice and we are beyond excited!!! Despite on our journey, we realised we had booked our apartment for the wrong dates, so instead we found a campsite just off the main island with just a short bus ride across. Our train journey was definitely the most luxurious yet, the train was all first class, leather seats, spacious, and we got free drinks and snacks throughout the journey... We could definitely get used to this life!

Once we arrived at our campsite we were even more spoilt once we turned up, our tent wasn't a tent it was a little snug cabin!! It was perfect, with a lock to the door to protect our belongings, two beds, everything we could need! Our site had a restaurant, shop and a chill out area for the day/evenings with a tv showing ENGLISH television. We were in heaven!

As exciting as our campsite was, we just wanted to get out and explore the main island before night fell, so we hopped on the bus outside our campsite, and it took us directly to the island with 10 minutes!!

As soon as we stepped off the bus, we were mesmerized with it's beauty, bridge after bridge for what seemed like miles, lovely houses overlooking the river, restaurants too!

We continued walking around for hours, and found ourselves stumbling across all the monuments, including the Piazza San Marco or in English St Mark's Square, but it sounds a lot nicer in Italian! The square was huge, restaurants on either side and an entrance to Saint Mark's Basilica which had an endless queue. The strangest thing about the square was it was quite flooded... not all over but in the central part, we had to dodge water flowing out of the drains, but we still managed to get some lovely pictures despite this.

As we continued further, getting more lost within the streets of Venice, we jsut get coming across the most beautiful spots, over and over again. We heard many mixed reviews about Venice, some negative like how it smells and is very dirty, however we have not witnessed a single stench, so please don't always let the reviews put you off, and come and see it for yourself, for your own personal judgement. We love it here already!

As the sun began to start setting we went for a lovely dinner, before watching the sunset and heading back to our cabin for the night!
