Where to eat/ where not to eat?

Food

I know we are all suckers for wanting to live the most perfect, luxurious lifestyle but in reality can we all afford to do so every single day of our lives? We certainly can't, I don't know about you.

The biggest tip on where not to eat is the centre of any city, the main squares especially. This is the main tourist area of any city, so obviously the restaurants or even sometimes McDonald's up their prices to fall the travellers. Not only do you get charged a higher rate, for the same food you can find a few streets away from the main square, but you sometimes even get charged service fees and on occasion fees for your view. For example, if you decide to eat along the main river through Venice, with a window seat overlooking the gondola rides and river boat cruises, you may be charged for this view. Just a word to the wise for our fellow budget travellers out there.

Although some of you may be put off by the idea of street food, but you can get some of the tastiest local cuisines here, anything from Belgium Waffles in Brussels to fresh pasta in Italy. Not only is it tasty, it's also a huge money saving tip, no service fees or anything other fees people charge nowadays. More often than not, street food is made by local families, who have their own traditional recipes without the influence of anything too fancy, what you see is what you get.

You aren't going to be able to eat out, for every meal of the day, for every day you wish to travel, so that's why Airbnb works for us. We cook... we buy pasta/ rice etc and we cook it up using the appliances at the apartments we stay in, this is a huge money saving tip, buy the shops own makes and cook what you fancy eating. If you have been away from home for a long time, sometimes you just crave a home cooked meal, and this is perfect for keeping us going. As long as you look up the translation for all the foods you wish to purchase, you can't go wrong.

Lastly, a huge tip would be, try the local cuisines, be daring!
