It was sad to to have such a brief flying visit in Salzburg, but today we have arrived in Munich, Germany and we headed straight to our apartment to meet our hosts. We only met one of our hosts, but he greeted us nicely and shown us around the very small apartment, this time we were sharing with the hosts. We got ourselves ready and headed straight out to make the most of our first day here, so we went straight to Marienplatz square.

We arrived at the square, and wandered around admiring the views and buildings around us, it was lunch time so we headed to grab some food from a subway before continuing exploring the area.

We couldn't go to Germany and not enjoy sitting in a traditional beer garden and not drink beer out of a 2 pint glass, so we headed to the main market stall area, where in the centre they have a huge beer garden. It was such a great atmosphere, there were people from all over the world sat around us, we even had a very interesting conversation with an icelandic man. He was in the area visiting some relatives, and he got onto the subject of traditions in his country. He told us that Chinese people come to Iceland to see the Northern Lights, because they apparently believe that they have higher chances of conceiving an intelligent child, if they "do it" under the lights. So please can anyone correct us if this is wrong, because we don't know whether to believe this theory or whether it was just a very drunken Icelandic man's theory...He also told us that Cuban's eat sugary sandwiches... so please all you Cuban readers, please let us know if this is a true fact.

We had a great couple of hours consuming units after units, and we decided we needed some more food to soak up this alcohol, so we headed to a local pub where we had a lovely traditional German meal, although it was quite bizarre to eat warm sausages with cold mashed potato. Tip for you out there though, the bread on the tables in Germany, you are charged for, per slice, so if you weren't aware of this and do not want to pay for bread, don't touch it.

After our dinner, we headed back to the square to grab some photos before heading back to our apartment where our hosts offered us to try a traditional Chinese dish, as the female host was Asian. We are now off to bed, to recharge for another day out in Munich.
