It's our first proper day in Salzburg and so far the weather is holding out for us, so we are up and out ready to see all the sites today!

We began our walk through the Mirabell gardens, just like Werfenweng, the gardens here are so well kept, flowers perfectly mirrored on either side, just simply beautiful. Unfortunately, the weather didn't hold out for us too long, so we took shelter under the trees and admired our surroundings.

As the rain settled down again, we continued exploring the area, passing by the Salzburg church of Dom, we went in as it's free entry and the building was just so detailed from the ceilings to the floor, it even has a museum underground, full of surprises. We saw many people praying within the church, while others observed the incredible detail.

Once we left the church, we headed towards the Hohensalzburg Castle, the hill walk up was fairly steep so we stopped a few times to take in the different stages of the scenery and we had a great view of the city.

Despite the weather, yet another Austrian city hasn't disappointed us, with the old style buildings, river and beautiful botanical gardens all set below an old style castle, this city is one not to miss when you pass through Austria. We still can't believe this is our last day in Austria, but it will definitely not be our last visit to this country.
